Please join the Syracuse Peace Council at Plowshares Craftsfair on December 2-3 at Nottingham High School (3100 E. Genesee St., Syracuse – map). Central New York’s premier multicultural craftsfair, Plowshares celebrates a world where people enjoy their work and have control over it. With 130 area craftspeople and community groups, it is a marketplace of ideas and beautifully diverse, hand made items.
More than a craftsfair, it is a peace festival, with music, food and a spirit of fellowship, creating a weekend of grassroots commerce and community. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect at year’s end with old and new friends and share in the life of a village marketplace that has no corporate headquarters.
It takes a community to create a community craftsfair.

Arely continues to fight deportation and to stay with her family. She is just $855 away from her fundraising goal of $7,000 which goes towards paying her legal fees. Please continue to donate and share her important campaign. She appreciates all of your support and solidarity. Arely is so close to her goal! Let’s help her reach it!
We would like to thank WCCNY members, allies, volunteers and so many others for celebrating Dia de los Muertos with us. With your generous support, we were able to raise a little over $400 for Puerto Rico and Mexico. Thank you all again so much!
The Spanish Action League in collaboration with the Latino Professional Social Group and leaders in the community are working together to help the people in Puerto Rico. We will be collecting items and donation to send to the Island.
We will have T-Shirts for sell for $10 and the proceeds will support the relief efforts.

NOT ONE MORE DEPORTATION! Continue reading
Workers’ Center of CNY board member, community organizer & leader, and mother Dolores Bustamante has just experienced the devastating loss of her son. This is an extremely difficult time for Dolores and her family and we want to show them as much support as possible. In her recent fights to resist deportation, she has shown a tremendous amount of courage and bravery. Many of us have been deeply moved and inspired by her commitment to immigrants’ rights, workers’ rights, and women’s rights. Let us all donate and encourage others to donate and support her and her family in the wake of such an earth shattering loss. Estamos con Dolores!
