The WCCNY joins the Urban Jobs Task Force Coalition

The Workers’ Center recently joined the Urban Jobs Task Force Coalition, a collaboration of community groups; faith based organizations and concerned citizens in Syracuse, N.Y. We are working to create a local economy that provides good jobs and job training for low and very low-income families and more opportunities for local woman and minority-owned enterprises to receive work on publicly financed development projects.

The UJTF is committed to increasing the use of the Community Benefits Agreement to increase job opportunities for low and very low-income people in Syracuse, as well as sub-contracting opportunities for woman and minority-owned businesses.

The UJTF invites the community to a Public Study Session this Tuesday June 25 at 5:30pm at the City Hall Common Council Chambers.
