Empty chairs at the dinner table: Undocumented Thanksgiving 11/21

Immigrant community and supporters of a Clean Dream Act and farmworkers rights will gather around a table with empty chairs representing the tens of thousands of families across the country who will be missing loved ones because their families have been ripped apart by deportation and a broken immigration system.

We will gather in front of Congressman John Katko’s office in Syracuse to demand he supports a Clean Dream Act and speak up for farmworkers rights.

Each day from now until March 5, 2018, approximately 122 people will lose their DACA protection. Congressman Katko, the time to take action is NOW.

In New York thousands of farmworkers work long hours to bring food to the table. We will give them thanks and speak up for their right to dignified working conditions and against an expansion of the H2A program. Farmworkers need protection from racist immigration enforcement not indented servitude kind of programs like H2A.

United We Dream and Workers’ Center of CNY organize with the support of local Central NY organizations.
